DESCRIPTION:Piscataquis County Soil & Water Conservation District (PCSWCD) will be hosting the Maine Department of Environmental Protection for this contractor certification course in basic and advanced erosion control practices.\n\nTo become certified in Basic and Advanced Erosion Control Practices\, individuals must complete an 8-hour training course. This course is necessary for contractors who disturb soil in the shoreland zone. The course covers the importance of erosion control practices\, principles of erosion and sedimentation\, installation and maintenance of Erosion & Sedimentation Control (ESC) Best Management Practices (BMPs)\, and regulations requiring ESC. Participants will also learn about the proper selection\, installation\, and maintenance of ESC practices using Maine DEPs Erosion and Sediment Control Practices Field Guide for Contractors. The course qualifies for Continuing Education Credits\, which can be used towards re-certification or re-instatement of expired certifications.\n\nRegistration is limited and required. Certificates of completed and CEUs will be sent via email after course completion\, so a valid email address is required for registration.
